Food for Thought
  • Here Jesus is uncompromising in his challenges about the serious demands of true discipleship.
  • What's my reation tho this challenge? Do I need to be pushed a little bit? Do I feel resentful and misunderstood by Jesus?
  • Can I speak to Jesus from my heart?

ARE YOU NEW TO OUR PARISH? WELCOME!
Welcome to those who want to make our parish their faith home. You may have come from other places. You may have been “away for a while”. Be assured that we love to have you among us. We would appreciate it very much if you identified yourself at Mass. It would also help if you would take the time to fill out a registration form. The next time you are with us, you may leave it in the collection basket or give it to one of the ushers or to the priest. Thank you and welcome.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR TH SEND-OFF LAST SUNDAY
This is my last weekend with you as your pastor. I want to thank all who have worked for and participated in the social and the BBQ. It was so very enjoyable and much appreciated. I know putting something like that together takes a lot of work but it went all so smoothly. It is something I won’t forget. And thank you very much for all the good wishes and gifts.

Many thank for the welcome you have given to me and for allowing me to journey in faith with you these last six years. We have shared exciting and difficult times, and ordinary times as well, all held together and inspired by our shared faith in Jesus who continues to be the real shepherd. Those whom I have disappointed or even offended I ask for forgiveness. Some time ago I came across a line by one of my favorite authors (Kathleen Norris) that I find very applicable: “Just a look around at the motley crew assembled in his name, myself among them, lets me know how unlikely it all is. The whole lot of us, warts and all, just seems so improbable, so absurd. I figure that only Christ would be so foolish, or so powerful, as to have brought us together.”

Together we want to be grateful for the cling to the light and food that Jesus is for us all.

WELCOME TO FATHER GYAN
We have made our first acquaintances with our new pastor, Father Gyanprakash Topno. He is slowly settling in at St. Aloysius from where he will serve us here in Buckingham and Mayo. Naturally, it will take him some time and it will take us home time and effort as well to get used to each other. Coming from India everything is new to him. It is nice to see and much appreciated too that a good number of parishioners are going the extra mile to slowly introduce Father Gyan to our scene. It is amazing how many things we have to think of, but if we are patient and thoughtful, we’ll get it done.

Through it all, let us not lose sight of the one that brings us together: Jesus Christ. If it was not for Jesus in our lives, we would not have to handle this unique challenge.

So we pray that the spirit of Jesus will guide and inspire Father Gyan and us as we begin our common journey in faith.

OUR 53RD LADY OF KNOCK PILGIRMAGE
It is already two weeks ago that we celebrated that big event of the year. Over these last six years I have been amazed with the dedication and the hard work that goes into that faith event. I have very much enjoyed making a small contribution to it (among other things making sure that the chairs are set up right). It is all such a beautiful tribute to Mary, “the first and most perfect of Christ’s disciples”.

OUR PRAYERS AND SYMPATHY
- to the families of Eunice Ouellete, Margaret Dorion, Veronica Smith, Norah Kane and Thomas Bedard, who have died recently.
